About me

My name is Tereza Hovorková and I am an emerging dance artist who is passionate about women’s empowerement and finding ways to make dance more accessible. Hip Hop, Contemporary, Dancehall, and Heels are the styles I am most skilled in, but I am also trained in Afro House, Commercial and New Style Hustle.

I am enthusiastic about choreographing and performing, however I would like to facilitate and lead my own classes in the future as well. I am a skilled improvisor and lately have been focusing on combining different dance styles within improvisation and choreography, and I would love to develop this focus further.

I aspire to become a performer working for various artists while pursuing my dream to travel the world, experience different cultures and learn from others.

My final independent project focused on how safe space and movement support self-discovery in female participants . In it, I examined how somatic practices, such as yoga, and a set phrase and improvisation enhance performance and build confidence within participants. This gave me the opportunity explore various teaching strategies.
As a third-year dance student I have also been a member of UCLan Dance Company, and was involved in the devising of a new dance performance choreographed and directed by Kapow Dance Circus Theatre, which can be viewed through the link on the feature image.
