About me

I am a mature student who began my educational journey in the foundation entry course, I have had in total four years to explore numerous ways of creating art, from printmaker, photography, videos, studio and site-specific sculptures.
Having the freedom and space to be able to do this has enabled me to find my own way of working and also my own practice which is mainly sculpture, using photography and videos to document and archive this work.
I am planning on continuing my studies and also my personal investigation into my own practice by completing the Masters while establishing myself as a practicing artist.

The projects that I have been working on are sculptural and photographic images both exploring the same source material. My work is heavily influenced from and being within the natural world, using the observed things that have caught my attention. I have investigated different ways to highlight this allowing the natural beauty to be seen. This has mainly been driftwood due to the individuality of each piece and the symbolic journey each piece has taken before I had collected it. My aim is to bring some of the calming effects, I experience when collecting, into the studio.
